Eunice "Uni" Ball | |||
|
After a few decades in Texas, Uni now resides in Edmond, Oklahoma with her husband, Bill. Uni has always worked with fiber but now concentrates on knitting and crocheting, finding them easily portable in her travels. She has two grown children and six grandchildren. Uni's daughter, Sherry Ball Schoenfeldt, is a mixed-media artist. Her grandson, Nate Opdyke, creates spray-paint art. Her granddaughter, Danielle Turner, dabbles in collage and scrapbooks. In addition to selling her crafts and making gifts for her family and friends, Uni donates baby blankets to crisis pregnancy centers and orphanages, shawls to occupants of assisted living centers and many hand-made items to agencies that assist battered women and their children. She, along with her husband Bill, takes to heart the Bible passage in James 1:27: "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." |
